Why this is worth flagging
A lifecycle change affects more than the panel itself. Service departments may need to think about replacement boards and peripheral availability, sales teams need to know what can still be quoted, and existing customers need a realistic repair-versus-upgrade conversation.
What the public Honeywell pages show
The Honeywell Building Automation product page for the IFP-300 currently displays the message “This product has been discontinued.” However, Honeywell's Farenhyt addressable-control-panel overview still presents the IFP-300 alongside the IFP-2100 and IFP-75, with older panels grouped separately as legacy products.
Because those two public pages are not fully aligned, FireAlarmGuy is treating this as a status flag, not as a complete manufacturer lifecycle bulletin.
What to verify before acting
- Current manufacturer or authorized-distributor lifecycle status.
- Last-order or last-ship dates, if any.
- Replacement panel and migration path.
- Device, annunciator, communicator, and network compatibility.
- Programming-software and credential requirements.
- Availability of replacement main boards and critical service parts.
Do not tell a customer “the IFP-300 is obsolete” based on one web banner alone. Use the notice as a reason to confirm lifecycle status and build a support plan before the next failure forces the decision.
